AEX - Advanced Electrical Shelving X
We offer two types of electric mobile shelves based on size and usability.
This is a high-performance electric shelf with microcomputer control and a color LCD display.
It is ideal for large-scale storage plans, offering labor-saving and energy-saving benefits.
This high-performance electric shelf is equipped with a microcomputer in the shelf control mechanism, enabling touch operation via an LCD display.
It not only controls shelf movement and safety mechanisms but also monitors the operational status of the shelves.
When the shelf aisle opens, an interlock is activated.

Safety bars are installed on both sides of the movable shelf base.

■ Help function (operation support)
Displays messages explaining the safety features and operation of the electric shelf in an easy-to-understand manner.
Provides support to ensure safe operation even for first-time users.
■ Monitoring function (surveillance)
The microcomputer constantly monitors the electric shelf for problems and displays error messages and alarms on the LCD screen in the event of a problem.
This allows simple issues to be resolved quickly by the operator. Error and alarm history can also be displayed.
■ Self-Adjusting Function (Self-Diagnostic Adjustment)
The microcomputer performs self-diagnosis of motor output based on load conditions such as shelf loads, and adjusts output appropriately.
The time required for shelf opening/closing is constantly monitored by a walking time timer,
and the auto power-off (energy-saving timer) automatically turns off the power even if it is forgotten, saving electricity and improving safety and durability.
■ Clear message function (color LCD display)
A touch panel LCD display is adopted, achieving excellent visibility and one-touch operability.
■ Operation Pattern Change Function (Passage Formation Selection)
The operation pattern can be changed from single passage, multiple passages, to convergence and even distribution.

■D220mm/H300mm pitch

■D270・D310・D420mm/H350mm pitch

Note:
The HPZS electrical mobile shelving unit comes with seismic isolation as standard.
The gusset of canopy is standard equipment.

Vibration Experiment
In a Three-Dimensional Vibration Experiment with Simultaneous Tri-Axial Excitation, Clears the Actual Seismic Wave of the Hyogo-Ken Nanbu Earthquake.
In May 1996, as the culmination of the vibration experiments Kongo has conducted for mobile shelving over the years, we performed a “Three-Dimensional Vibration Experiment” at the Kajima Corporation Technical Research Institute. This facility is equipped to reproduce the actual seismic waves of the Hyogo-Ken Nanbu Earthquake (Great Hanshin Earthquake) using simultaneous tri-axial excitation.
In the experiment, we were able to obtain various valuable data while reproducing Shindo 7 intensity level seismic waveforms, such as the El Centro wave, Taft wave, and Kobe wave.
Particularly, in a public experiment observed by stakeholders from various fields, the shelving cleared the vibration test using the actual seismic wave from the Hyogo-Ken Nanbu Earthquake (as observed at the Kobe Marine Observatory) without any stored items falling. This experiment reaffirmed the safety of our seismic-isolated mobile shelving against large earthquakes.

The aisle sensor detects a operator entering and locks the shelving automatically. Leaving the aisle, the operator needs to push the switch for releasing the locking. However with the area sensor system, you do not need to push the switch. After a operator left the passage, it releases the lock automatically.

This is an upper bar for tall shelving units, designed to prevent tipping.

The bar is normally stored within the upright post. It can be folded down when working in the aisle to secure a safe space. (Bar length: 450mm)

This bar is installed to ensure user safety when a mobile unit is located at the end. The bar is red for intuitive identification.

Rail Installation Methods for Mobile Shelving
1. On-floor Type The rail is leveled on the existing floor and secured with anchors.
1. On-floor Type (with Ramps) Ramps are attached to the on-floor rails. This is used for trip prevention and to allow access for carts.
⚠️ Caution: Not compatible with HPZS electric shelving.
2. Built-up Floor Type Ramps are placed on the approach side only. The space between the rails is filled in (e.g., with plywood) to make the aisle flush. Ideal for trip prevention and cart access.
3. Embedded Type The floor is filled with mortar (or other material) to be level with the rails. This is effective for trip prevention and for securing the rail. Requires prior coordination regarding rail installation before pouring the concrete slab. As the rails will be embedded in concrete, stainless steel is recommended for rust prevention.
4. Raised Access Floor Type The rails are leveled to match the height of the raised access floor. For heights of 150mm or less, hat channels are used. For heights over 150mm, steel support posts are used.
5. Floor Reinforcement Type If the floor’s load-bearing capacity is insufficient, the floor is reinforced with support materials before installing the rails. The reinforcement material (H-beam) is secured over the main girders.
